Introducing … Me

Sitting in my room back in 2008, racking my brain for the perfect Instagram handle. Deciding to pay homage to one of my all-time favourite Pink Floyd albums, ‘Ummagumma’… added the extra ‘mumma’… and there you have it. It might be a tongue twister, but it’s my tongue twister. At the time I had no idea that would become the moniker under which I would photograph some of the greatest artists in the world. Perhaps had I known, I would have chosen something slightly more easy to pronounce – but I’ve grown to embrace it wholeheartedly.

A Love for Capturing Moments

I’ve always had a thing for photography, and I relish a challenge. I’m not one to stick to a single genre or technique, preferring to adapt to whatever the moment calls for, in the endless pursuit of capturing images that move me, and maybe have a chance of moving others too.

Learning is a Superpower

I don’t consider myself an expert in anything – but I do have a passion for lifelong learning. Photography is a continuous journey of discovery. Your workshop and tools are ever-changing. What grows stronger through the journey is the relationships with other photographers and I cherish the little community I’m a part of. These people inspire me every day. We don’t gatekeep our skills and knowledge, and we learn together and support each other. It’s a bit beautiful.

Beyond the Lens

When I’m not behind the camera or working for my family business, I’m likely lost in music, exploring new destinations, hanging out with my kids, family, and friends, cuddling with my furry feline companions, and indulging in some seriously good food.

So, there it is – I’ve broken down the tongue twister.

Will I do more blog posts? Maybe. If I do, they’ll probably be just as sporadic as my poorly managed social accounts.
